Project Dana Caregiver Support Group

Project Dana’s Caring for the Caregiver (C4C) program offers services to family caregivers and soon to be caregivers. The goal of the program is to help alleviate the stress that comes with continuous caregiving responsibilities. Caregivers will have the opportunity to “talk story” about their experiences and current concerns with their peers. The Project also plans outings to various locations and activities for fun and relaxation. The program’s coordinator facilitates the group meetings. Support group meetings scheduled and location are listed in the calendar.

Hana Caregiver Support Group

The Maui Adult Day Care Centers and the Maui County Office on Aging offer monthly Caregiver Support Groups across the island, providing a welcoming space to connect, share, and find encouragement. No reservations are needed, and complimentary care for your adult loved one is available during each group session, making it easier for caregivers to take time for themselves.

The Hana Support Group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM at Hale Hulu Mamo – Hana Senior Center. For all groups please feel free to bring a personal snack and soft drink or water for yourself.

Early-Stage Dementia Support Group

This professionally facilitated support group is for individuals recently diagnosed with early-stage dementia and their care partner. Led by Kevin Y. Kawamoto, MSW, Ph.D., the group provides a safe, supportive space to share experiences, coping strategies, and emotions. Pre-screening is required.
