Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program

The Pacific Islands Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (PI-GWEP) addresses the shortage of geriatrics-trained healthcare practitioners through active and committed academic-community partnerships in its service region. The PI-GWEP faculty members work with medical studentsresidentsfellows, along with other allied health fields (i.e. social work, public health, and nursing) to build a geriatric-capable medical workforce. The PI-GWEP also provides continuing education (ECHO and Grand Rounds) and collaborates with community partners to provide educational lectures and resources to local caregivers.
