Lewy Body Dementia: Navigating Diagnosis, Care Strategies, and Essential Support

Lewy body dementias (LBD) are the second most common form of degenerative dementia and affect approximately 1.4 million people in the United States. This webinar will cover key aspects of LBD, including symptoms, diagnosis, and care considerations, while highlighting the real-life experiences of a former care partner who navigated the complexities of LBD within her own family. Participants will gain valuable perspectives on the challenges faced by individuals living with LBD and their caregivers and will explore practical strategies for providing compassionate, informed support.

Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® (AAIC): For All Community — For Members of the Public

AAIC For All: Community is a no-cost event to learn about the latest in Alzheimer’s treatment, diagnosis, prevention and care. This is an extension of the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference® (AAIC), the largest international conference dedicated to advancing dementia science.

This event is open to all interested individuals, including people living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, family members, caregivers and the general public. You will hear directly from global experts about the latest discoveries and what they mean for people affected by the disease.

Registered attendees can watch presentations live on July 31, 2025 at 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. EST or view recordings afterwards. Registered attendees will receive access to the virtual platform.

The US POINTER Study – results will be presented as part of the AAIC for All program, Community Member Track, from 10-11:30 a.m. ET (4:00-5:30 A.M. HST), on July 31, 2025.

Mindfulness & Caregiving Part 2: Mindfulness Techniques & Practice

Dr. Lucas Morgan, Clinical Psychologist from Hawaiʻi, will share an introduction to formal and informal mindfulness practices, techniques to practice at home, how to bring mindfulness into your daily life, and how mindfulness can help with some of the emotional challenges of caregiving.

The Zoom link will be sent to registrants after ordering on Eventbrite. Catholic Charities Hawaiʻi and Hale Kūʻike sponsor this workshop. These caregiver workshops are made possible by the Elderly Affairs Division of the City & County of Honolulu through Federal Older Americans Act funding.
