This lecture is part of our Listen & Learn series\, offering support and skills to enhance quality of life for both caregivers and their loved ones. \nThe “Listen and Learn Lihue Library Lecture Series on Alzheimer’s” for 2025 is a monthly educational series featuring a dementia related topic sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association Aloha Chapter\, AARP-Hawaii and the Lihue Public Library\, in conjunction with the Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs. This series is partially funded by the OAA National Family Caregiver Support Program and will bring local professionals together to educate the community on dementia related issues to help in the diagnosis of\, and treatment and care for\, individuals with dementia. \nWe offer all of our caregiver programs at no cost and rely on grant funding to support and sustain our work. As a participant of our programs\, we kindly ask you to complete the brief information form below from the County of Kauai. Completing this form allows us to cover the costs of this program through our funder\, the Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs. DESCRIPTION:The Cultivating Care: Memory Café is a monthly garden-based program for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Held at Ho‘ōla ʻĀina Pilipili Accessible Garden site\, each gathering offers a welcoming outdoor space to connect\, create\, and build community through meaningful\, accessible activities.  \nThe garden includes wide pathways\, shaded areas\, seating\, accessible restrooms\, lighting\, and nearby parking. We provide all tools\, gloves\, and garden materials\, and serve light refreshments at each session.
