DESCRIPTION:The Maui Adult Day Care Centers and the Maui County Office on Aging offer monthly Caregiver Support Groups across the island\, providing a welcoming space to connect\, share\, and find encouragement. No reservations are needed\, and complimentary care for your adult loved one is available during each group session\, making it easier for caregivers to take time for themselves. \nThe Kihei Support Group meets on the Last Monday of each month at 2:00pm – 4:00pm South Maui Adult Day Care Center\, 16 Ehiku St. Kihei. They meet in back room. SUMMARY:Project Dana Caregiver Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Project Dana’s Caring for the Caregiver (C4C) program offers services to family caregivers and soon to be caregivers. The goal of the program is to help alleviate the stress that comes with continuous caregiving responsibilities. Caregivers will have the opportunity to “talk story” about their experiences and current concerns with their peers. The Project also plans outings to various locations and activities for fun and relaxation. The program’s coordinator facilitates the group meetings. Support group meetings scheduled and location are listed in the calendar.

Come connect\, reflect\, and explore how we can navigate them with strength—and uncover the gifts along the way. \nPresenter: Jadene Sloan Ransdell\, BS\, has been a family advocate for nearly fifty years. Her son\, Matt was born with Down syndrome and directed the sails of her life. She is an author\, and podcast host. As the former co-chair of the NTG Family Support committee\, she helped establish the NTG monthly support group. She also created the NDSS Adult Summit. Her first book\, Unwrapping the Gifts of Disability: A Mother’s Reflection on Raising a Son with Down Syndrome has received many positive reviews. She is currently writing\, A Traveler’s Guide to the Down Syndrome/Alzheimer’s Journey. The podcast is hosted by two other family members and can be found on her website or wherever podcasts are.
