Don’t miss out on this event to gain knowledge and resources to navigate the challenges of caregiving for someone with dementia! \nAbout Rachael Wonderlin \nRachael Wonderlin is an internationally recognized dementia care educator based in Pittsburgh\, PA. She founded her consultancy\, Dementia By Day\, in 2014 and is is the author of three books published by Johns Hopkins University Press: When Someone You Know is Living in a Dementia Care Community; Creative Engagement; and The Caregiver’s Guide to Memory Care and Dementia Communities. \nRachael has a Master’s in Gerontology from UNC Greensboro\, a Bachelor’s in Psychology from University of Mary Washington. Rachael was a Dementia Care Director at three senior living communities before moving into her role as a full-time educator and consultant.

SUMMARY:Cultivating Care: Memory Café - Creation
DESCRIPTION:The Cultivating Care: Memory Café is a monthly garden-based program for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Held at Ho‘ōla ʻĀina Pilipili Accessible Garden site\, each gathering offers a welcoming outdoor space to connect\, create\, and build community through meaningful\, accessible activities.  \nThe garden includes wide pathways\, shaded areas\, seating\, accessible restrooms\, lighting\, and nearby parking. We provide all tools\, gloves\, and garden materials\, and serve light refreshments at each session. Registration is required\, and a map with parking and site details will be shared upon sign-up.  \nParticipants will be asked to sign in at the event and complete a brief evaluation form to support and improve the program. Our sessions will provide a supportive\, relaxing environment.  \n2025 Memory Café Dates & Themes (Thursdays\, 4:30–6:00 PM): \n\n\nSeptember 25 – Connection \n\n\nOctober 16 – Communication \n\n\nNovember 13 – Creation \n\n\nDecember 11 – Cultivation
